Neeraj Kabi is an acclaimed Indian Actor awarded and celebrated for his performances in stories that inspire, stories that inform and stories that awaken. He has been working as a professional Actor in major or lead roles with renowned national and international Film and Theatre Directors. Considered as one of the finest actors in the country, Neeraj is best known for his powerful transformations into various characters in Films like Ship of Theseus, Byomkesh Bakshy, Talvar, Sacred Games, Pataal Lok, Once Again, Hitchki as well as Theatre performances of Plays by William Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard, Moliere, Marivaux, Chekov, Oscar Wild, Henrik Ibsen, Marguerite Duras and Florian Zeller. He has also Directed and Produced the critically acclaimed Theatre production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, collaborating Indian traditional Artistes with urban Actors.

Neeraj is a self-taught actor and the techniques he uses are his own discoveries and experiments. He has used his years of experience and expertise in Theatre and Films to curate a variety of scientifically designed workshops based on theatre philosophies, film concepts and acting techniques. He has been conducting these specific workshops as a Coach for the last two and a half decades for professional and aspiring Actors, professional Animation studios, School Teachers, Young adults, Parents and a range of Corporate clientele from various industries. Neeraj is also the founder of PRAVAH, a work in progress space for Theatre production, Film production and Workshop training with a specific purpose.

• Performed as an Actor in major and lead roles in Indian and International films that have won national and international awards & honors. Have performed in Films, OTT and Television directed by important film makers such as Shyam Benegal, Goutam Ghosh, Dibakar Banerjee, Anurag Kashyap, Meghna Gulzar, Gurinder Chaddha, Anand Gandhi.
• Performed as an Actor in the lead or major roles in Theatre productions directed by national and several international directors from France, Israel, U.S.A. Have worked in productions directed by renowned Indian Theatre professionals such as Naseeruddin Shah and Atul Kumar.
• Directed and Produced Shakespeare’s HAMLET as a professional Theatre production. It was selected and invited to some of the biggest Theatre festivals in India.
• Traveled across the country training and conducting Theatre based workshops for actors, animators, Corporate houses, Management schools, residential schools, colleges, young adults and training organisations since 1996.

• Conducted a Theatre Workshop exploring Communication and Self-expression for a business applications company. A physical and psychological experience of enhancing the quality of human communication and honest self-expression in the organization to create a more productive work culture.
• Trained the IT executives in exploring and understanding Human Relationships and Emotions through a Theatre Workshop. We explored various perspectives of looking at relationships at work as well as in personal life and how these emotions can co-exist in creating a work environment of empathy, acceptance and mutual respect in a world of machines and software.
• Imparted training to an Architectural design company through a Theatre Workshop exploring the power of Listening in Team work. This was an outdoor corporate workshop using Theatre, Martial arts and Classical music to physically and emotionally experience the power of listening in upgrading the quality of Team work and team sensitivity. Especially where the employees of the organisation were too familiar with each other and took each other for granted.

WHAT IS THE PREMISE OF THIS WORKSHOP?

Acting is about the transformation of the actor’s mind, body and voice into that of the character such that the audience experiences what the Actor is experiencing at deeper levels of his consciousness. This attempt to transform and become the character requires intense inner work, life experiences, techniques and research to reach the truth. This brain state is called Automaticity, where conscious control gives way to embodied knowing. Neurosciences show that when preparation is complete, the prefrontal cortex relaxes and behavior is driven by integrated memory, emotion and intention rather than effort. Cognitive science calls this state fluency, where meaning, motivation and action align without self-monitoring. This is why the performance feels alive. The Actor is no longer performing behavior, they are simply thinking and responding as the person. Psychology calls this self-delusion a controlled simulation where the brain temporarily suspends the self so another identity can be explored safely. Some of the Oscar winning Method actors in the world use the technique of transformation to build their characters for an impactful performance to influence the way humanity thinks, feels and acts.
WHAT IS THE WORKSHOP COURSE STRUCTURE?

A Leader is a human in pursuit of excellence and greatness. Leadership is his aura that reflects his personal mastery over his craft and his life such that he is prepared to respond to any situation that his work or life throws at him. This workshop uses the foundations of the Actor’s technique of transformation to create the character of a Leader within you and make it your way of life. It uses the methodology of inner work, research and techniques to build within you a physical intelligence, a mindset, an emotional scape, a voice, values and ultimately a state of being that is prepared to show up at work, enhancing the human quality in the organization and serving the company in your highest possibility.
WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR AND WHAT WOULD THE WORKSHOP SPACE LOOK LIKE?

This workshop is for a selected team of 20 committed Middle level Management executives who play important or lead roles in the company. They would engage themselves physically, mentally, emotionally and intellectually within a large circular performing and seating arrangement where they could move and run freely.
